Nature at the forestry centre

The Vivaio Forestale Pian dei Corsi forestry centre and nursery (Rialto, Savona) was a three-hectare open-air lab and venue located at 855 m above sea level in the mountains inland from Finale Ligure. CIMA Research Foundation managed it from July 2012 to 2020, using it to conduct training, research and technological development in civil protection, natural risk prevention and prediction, and the safeguarding of biodiversity. The forestry nursery focused on conservation of Ligurian forest biodiversity and on reinstating old varieties of fruit-bearing trees. A multi-purpose space to host on-site research activities, teaching sessions, nature stays and other events pivoting on environmental themes.
