This approach found space and recognition at the 2024 and 2025 editions of the EGU (European Geosciences Union) General Assembly, within two sessions that systemically addressed art, science, and society. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99b68db elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"99b68db\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-78d643e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"78d643e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c555c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7c555c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">EGU 2024: <\/span><br \/>Art to Tell Wildfires, Floods, Droughts, and the Climate Crisis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the session titled <em>\u201cWildfires, floods, droughts, and the climate crisis: can art narrate the risk?\u201d<\/em> offered the ideal context to present CIMA\u2019s experience, showcasing several initiatives in which artistic language \u2013 through painting, photography, installations, and theater \u2013 was used to raise awareness among a broad and diverse audience on environmental and climate risks.<\/p>\n<p>Through art, complex topics such as biodiversity loss, droughts, floods, and the increase in extreme events became more accessible, emotional, and engaging. The works did not merely represent phenomena but narrated them, stimulating empathy and critical reflection. Central to the session was the work &#8220;Lament for UR&#8221;, a pictorial reinterpretation of an ancient Sumerian text narrating the destruction of the city of Ur, likely due to drought and social conflict. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Through Schiavetta\u2019s paintings and Siccardi\u2019s reflections, the project emphasized the continuity between past and present, showing how climate crisis, environmental migration, and resource scarcity are both ancient and current issues. CIMA Research Foundation has thus helped redefine how we communicate risk: not only through graphs and models, but also with images, stories, and<br \/>emotions.
